Monday September 10th – What You Should Watch

10 Sep

CBS airs a 30 minute Fall Preview tonight at 8:30, hosted by you favorite 2 Broke Girls.

The Voice returns at 8 on NBC. The Voice has slowly gained respect and a loyal following over the last two seasons.   American Idol has an uphill battle this year with all new judges. I think the curiosity factor around Britney Spears judging on The X-Factor will wear thin. Look for The Voice to come out the winner this season.

CBS Fall Preview

Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs host a first look at “Partners,” “Vegas,” “Elementary” and “Made in Jersey.”

Wednesday 3/28 What You Should Watch

28 Mar

This is a weird time in the TV season, there is a hodge podge of new episodes from established shows, like Happy Endings. Networks burning episodes of shows that are low in the ratings that won’t be renewed, but since they already paid for them they want to run them.  Like Whitney, Are You There, Chelsea and Bent.

Speaking of, tonight is the Finale for Whitney, RIP. Don’t feel too bad for Whitney, she landed a hit with 2 Broke Girls on CBS, she is in the money.

Rating kings like, American Idol and Survivor are there to pay to the bills.

I am still waiting for my beloved Revenge to return.

Until then I have new episodes of Happy Endings and repeats of Modern Family and Suburgatory to get me through.

Happy Endings

Episode: Big White Lies
Things spiral out of control after Penny tells a white lie to avoid an irritating childhood friend; Dave and Max’s lonely and jealous landlord (Ben Falcone) falls for Alex.

Suburgatory

Are You There, Chelsea?

Episode: Surprise
When Sloane’s husband calls to announce he is on his way home after she has spent the night drinking with her sister, it’s up to Chelsea to get her cleaned up before he arrives

Bent

Episode: HD
When Pete catches Ben in a compromising situation, he decides to tell Alex; Walt and Screwsie help Charlie with a bully.

3/21 Wednesday What You Should Watch

21 Mar

Revenge isn’t back yet. BOOO ABC is running the pilot for Ashley’s Judd’s new show Missing tonight at 10pm.  It debuted last Thursday at 8pm stronger than I expected against American Idol, it had a 2.1 rating/6 share with over 10 million viewers.

I wonder if it will hang on there, only time will tell. It has about a month to establish a foothold, before all the shows come back for the final runs leading up to season finales and May sweeps.

Only one of ABC Wednesday‘s comedy block shows is new BOOO, but since it’s Happy Endings there is a little silver lining. This show is very funny, catch up on Hulu or iTunes.

So what’s good? Well nothing really unless you like Whitney or Are You There Chelsea? which judging by the ratings not many of you do.

There is Survivor, CSI and Rock Center, like I said BOOO!!!!!

Happy Endings

Dave gets bullied at the gym and Alex teaches him to fight back; residents of the condo challenge Jane for her job as president of the homeowner’s association.

Thursday 3/15 What You Should Watch, The Vampire Diaries, Awake, Missing Premieres

15 Mar

CBS has the NCAA. All the other networks are airing all new episodes of their top shows. ABC is premiering a new show “Missing”, starring Ashley Judd, as a CIA agent looking for her missing son. It reminds of the Liam Neesom movie Taken, lets hope they are not selling her son into white slavery.

Fox is running the Touch pilot again at 9 after American Idol.

Awake continues its run tonight at 10pm on NBC, check it out.

Top Spot – The Vampire Diaries

Finally a new episode of TVD, to make it even better, Cassidy Freeman (Tess from Smallville) is guest starring. Love Her!!! I wonder who the serial killer is, it would be brilliant if it is Matt. But I have a feeling it is Alaric, its some residual from when Klaus took over his body.

The Vampire Diaries

Episode: 1912
Current murders in Mystic Falls remind Damon of a similar crime spree in 1912; Elena and Matt try to prove that Dr. Fell (Torrey Devitto) is a killer

Missing

Episode: Pilot
When 18-year-old Michael Winstone goes missing while studying abroad, his mother, former CIA operative Becca, suspects foul play and immediately travels to Europe to track him down.

Awake

Episode: Guilty
Rex is kidnapped by an escaped convict Michael arrested 10 years ago; an investigation in Michael’s other reality gets in the way of an event honoring his deceased son; clues from both realities lead to Michael’s sanity being questioned.

Thursday 3/1 What You Should Watch

1 Mar

NBC is premiering a new show tonight at 10pm, its called Awake it stars one of my favorite actors Jason Isaacs.

The basic premise, is after a car accident kills his wife and son a police detective creates two realities in which each one survives. I saw the pilot and let me tell you this is engrossing TV.  Highly recommend it, check it out.

NBC Thursday comedy block is all new.

Monday 2/27 What You Should Watch

27 Feb

We are in the final days of February Sweeps, more new episodes tonight.

CBS all new, can’t wait for the laughs.  I really love 2 Broke Girls, Jennifer Coolidge is a fantastic addition.

House continues to wrap up its final season in style.

Sad to say it, but Hart of Dixie doesn’t do it for me anymore. I will not be sorry when it gets cancelled, so much potential just wasted.

Smash is on tonight at 10, I am sticking with it for the rest of the season. It started strong, but has waned a bit the last few lets hope it picks up and gets renewed. The main problem with the show is, the characters aren’t likeable, if you are going to center your show around their personal lives then make the characters likeable.  Character Rehab stat for all.

Smash

Karen must learn how to get ahead in the world of Broadway; Derek throws a party for a hot, young celebrity (Nick Jonas); Eileen tests a new fundraising strategy; Tom goes on a date

House

Episode: Love Is Blind
The team works to save a blind man with a mysterious illness; House’s mother makes an unexpected visit.

2 Broke Girls

Max goes with Caroline to see her father in prison.

Smash “Enter Mr. DiMaggio”

25 Feb

What started as a promising show has quickly become a trite soap opera set against the backdrop of launching a Broadway musical.

First of all Ivy Lynn, you are supposed to be seasoned vet, and you honestly can’t tell the director is just using you.  He doesn’t care about working on the character with you, and you fell for the whole excuse about the gas problem at his apartment. He is no different than other man, they don’t invite you over to their place when they don’t want you in their lives.

Katherine McPhee singing more karaoke, didn’t we already see this when she was on American Idol, and she is a lousy actress.

Ellis the assistant as Iago, stealing the notebook, and he has a girlfriend, are they freaking kidding me.

Art imitates life, Debra Messing and the guy playing Joe DiMaggio left their real-life spouses when they met on the set. Their pretend affair became real, nice.

Stop having Anjelica Houston throw drinks in he ex husband’s face, the gag is tired.

The next episode, The Cost of Art is about the big name star they have to bring in to attract investors. Poor Ivy, all that sex and it didn’t matter, hope Karen doesn’t trip her when they are in the ensemble together.

Just like a bad relationship that you hope will get better, I am giving Smash the rest of the seaon its only 11 more episodes, may be it will get better.

What do you think?
